Nine Amazing Harry Potter Patterns

Are you a real Harry Potter fan? Would you like to show your love for Harry Potter with your knitting or crochet skills? In this week’s collection, we are preparing you a list of magical patterns inspired by the Harry Potter series. You can also customise these items in the Hogwarts House colours which are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.

Wizarding Chick Amigurumi

Harry Potter

by Ami Amour

Welcome to Chickwarts School of Chickcraft and Wizardry! Follow the designer’s pattern which cheekily inspired by J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, to magically transform your regular chick into a super Wizarding Chick. Now, make these chicks with different house scarves, and soon you’ll have a whole flock of wizarding chicks at your service!

Harry Potter Cell Sock

by Aunt Janet’s Designs

Do you have a favourite House at Hogwarts? Show your House colours with this cell sock knit in a Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin theme. Perfect for protecting your cell phone from scratches. Knit these up super fast as holiday gifts! This is also an easy-to-read 3-page knitting pattern with full-colour photos and detailed instructions, and a wonderful project for the HiyaHiya Fixed Circulars. The best part is they are super easy and addicting to make!

The Golden Snitch

Harry Potter

by Jasmine Turner

Desperately seeking a quick Harry Potter project? Simple and quick, made using only a few yards of worsted weight yarn and a little stuffing, this Golden Snitch works up faster than you can say Quidditch!

Described in the books as “tiny, about the size of a large walnut… bright gold with little fluttering silver wings,” the Snitch is the most valuable ball in a Quidditch game – and it is, by far, the most difficult to catch. Your crocheted version may not fly, but you’ll look cool carrying this magic, tiny ball with wings! In addition, the designer used size 10 crochet cotton in yellow and white with a 2.00mm crochet hook, but the pattern will work for any matching combination.

Snowy Owl Amigurumi

by Kayleigh Garrett

The following pattern is for your own baby snowy owl; he has a letter for you – perhaps it’s that acceptance letter to Hogwarts you’ve been waiting for!

Gauge is not essential to this pattern but it is good to have a tighter tension as this will ensure smaller holes between stitches meaning the stuffing is less likely to show. Your choice of yarn and hook size will change the size of your final project. To give you some guidance; using DK yarn and a 3.5mm hook will create an owl of about 3 inches high. The owl in the photos was made of 2 strands of DK with a 5mm hook and he was approx 4.5 inches.

Harry Potter Scarf Bookmark

by Lion Brand Yarn

This cute Harry Potter inspired House Scarf bookmark is the perfect project for using up your yarn scraps! You can use any weight of yarn–just add more stitches to your foundation chain and do an extra colour repeat section if using a thinner yarn. Use these bookmarkers to save your place without damaging your favourite book! Just beware that using anything heavier than a worsted will be too thick and your book won’t close nicely.

Harry Potter Newborn Set

Harry Potter

by It’s So Crochet

This Harry Potter inspired newborn set has a simple design that will allow any level knitter to be able to follow along and create a nice gift for a little baby. Especially as it also makes a great Halloween costume accessory.

House Sorting Hat

Harry Potter

by Allison Hoffman

Which house are you? Ever wanted to knit your very own sorting hat? Here’s a fabulous pattern. With this design, you can make your own Hogwarts sorting hat from your favourite worsted weight yarn and a size of 3.5mm or 3.75mm crochet hook. Although this pattern is designed for the intermediate crocheter, it also has a ton of detail and photos to help you along.

Harry Potter Blanket

by MadeByDevrie

Are you tired of watching your favourite movies (Harry Potter, of course) and reading your favourite books while shivering from the cold or under some thin blanket? Take a look at this Harry Potter inspired Blanket. This finished blanket will be 63 inches long and 45 inches wide. It is also a perfect project for hand blanket knitting using  super bulky yarn with HiyaHiya Interchangeable Circular Knitting Needles. Still, you can make one for your best friend and they will definitely love it.

Mini Harry Potter Amigurumi

Harry Potter

by Daisy and Storm

Our last pattern this week is a miniature version of the courageous wizard Harry Potter in his robes with his wand and owl! He’s approximately half the height of our larger Harry Potter pattern.

Size depends on hook and yarn weight. The designer, Daisy&Storm also provide a guide to sizes, however you can use any yarn weight as long as you use a hook small enough to give the right tension (at least two sizes smaller than the recommended hook size for that yarn).

There’s magic everywhere in this week’s collection. As the enduring appeal of Harry Potter, these projects are perfect to show you are a true Potter fan. You can just scroll down the page to the individual pattern you like and click on the link to that pattern. We hope this has given you lots of inspiration for your next project.  Finally, don’t forget to order your HiyaHiya needles for your next magical objects by clicking here.
