The greatest battle of them all, brain versus brawn. If you know your pokémon types, then you already know the answer to this age old question. However, if you are to master pokémon amigurumi, you’ll need to become proficient in both.
This Poliwag amigurumi doll is one of the best around. The tadpole pokémon is adorable and is an easy pattern for beginners to learn some vital skills. Now get out that super rod and go find one of these in your nearest pond!

The tadpole has started to grow some limbs and become a more challenging pokémon to stitch. Poliwhirl is an adorable pokémon to stitch and will provide the stitcher with plenty of challenge.

Give Poliwhirl a water stone and it suddenly becomes a lot more brawny. Poliwrath lives up to its name, and is certainly a challenge for even the most experienced stitchers. Adding the muscle detail can be a little tricky, as it is the prominent feature that differentiates it from its predecessor.

While Poliwag eventually evolves into a pokémon that uses brute force, Abra has the opposite concept. Its body might be frail but the power of its mind can control matter all on its own. This benevolent pokémon prefers to teleport away from conflict though, so you best stitch it from a distance so not to scare it.

Just like the beginning of a clever spell, we go from Abra to Kadabra. Controlling the mind becomes more prominent, with this pokémon not one to simply teleport away. Now that mind games are being played, you will have to be strong-willed to get through this one.
The iconic psychic type pokémon. While not as strong as it once was, due to the dynamics of Pokémon Red and Blue, Alakazam, along with Dragonite, was the toughest non-legendary pokémon. Stitch carefully.
Machop might look small but it packs a punch. Whether it’s a kick or a chop, the superpower pokémon will give the stitcher a good fight. Machop trains all day to improve its fighting ability, making it one of the best inspirations for your amigurumi!

This pokémon is so powerful it must wear a belt to regulate its motion. There’s certainly more definition here than from its predecessor, Machoke trains relentlessly, happily helping people with their heavy lifting. While a friendly pokémon, caution remains advisable.

One arm alone is thought to be able to move a mountain. The extra set of arms create another dynamic that the stitcher will have to be aware of before engaging this powerful pokémon. The fight between mind and muscle is now on!
Carnivorous plant that can uproot and walk. Bellsprout is thin and flexible, but don’t let this make you think this is an easy pokémon to stitch. There are a lot of chances for simple errors, stitching this one will take a little care.
Weepinbell is an awkward looking pokémon, taking on the appearance of a clown’s head. The fly catcher pokémon has a strong acid that can melt nearly anything that ends up trapped in its mouth. Be warned, this is the beginning of its own horror story.
Thought to live deep in the jungle although no expedition as ever returned. Victreebel is truly terrifying, able to dissolve giant prey in its mouth. Don’t be allured by its honey trap, this pokémon will gobble at the chance to eat you.
