Gotta Stitch Em All The Spark Of A Generation

There’s nothing more iconic than a certain electric mouse in Pokémon. A whole franchise built on one pokémon, clever marketing has led to one of the most recognisable brands in the world. This amigurumi journey will lead you to a pokémon you’ve definitely encountered before!

#21 – Spearow

by Edward Yong

Your next attempt with a flying type pokémon will be an uncomfortable one. Spearow is naturally aggressive and doesn’t take kindly to trespassers. Your adventure into Viridian Forest has prepared you for this moment and its unique design shouldn’t pose too many problems for the intermediate crocheter.

#22 – Fearow

by Edward Yong

A pirate of the sky, Fearow will cause many problems for even the most experienced crocheter. Balance is key to ensure the head doesn’t collapse, particularly with the large crest on top. Its piercing glare might be intimidating, but after the battle is commenced, you’re sure to add this one to your stichédex.

#23 – Ekans

by Edward Yong

To identify what it means to be Ekans, just read its name backwards and you get the answer to all your questions. Made famous as a member of Team Rocket, Ekans has a potent poison that it can inject with frightening stealth. Looks can be deceiving, this snake might cause you to miss a few stitches!

#24 – Arbok

by Carol Easterday

Like its predecessor, Arbok’s secret lies in an astern outlook. The markings on its hood changes from region to region, allowing for some creative flair from the crocheter. Not too much of a step-up from Ekans, but with a more striking design, the cobra pokémon is a fantastic pattern to stitch.

#25 – Pikachu

by Sabrina Somers

The face of the franchise and there are hundreds of different patterns of Pikachu on the internet to choose from. This one is particularly adorable and a perfect representation of how Pikachu has become an iconic character outside of Pokémon itself. Pikachu’s design has changed slightly from its original concept back in 1996, so there will be variations of the electric mouse pokémon.

#26 – Raichu

by The Nerdy Knitter

Overshadowed by its predecessor, Raichu has been one the most underrated fully-evolved pokémon to date. This pattern represents a nice step-up from Pikachu, with more complex ears and limbs. Overall, it’s a simple design; there needs to be more Raichu amigurumi out there!

#27 – Sandshrew

by Edward Yong

Deep within the arid biome lies another cute rodent pokémon that isn’t quite as famous as Pikachu. Sandshrew is an often forgotten pokémon from the original games and deserves further recognition for its fantastic design. This pattern is fantastic and does Sandshrew the justice it deserves.

#28 – Sandslash

by Maria Taylor

The evolution to Sandshrew is a fantastic design, and this pattern is particularly excellent at representing Sandslash. As the name suggests, Sandslash is known for its large claws that is uses to slash its foes. Be careful when stitching this one, it might leave you with a nasty present!
